As part of the ERASMUS+ KA171 international mobility project, Universidad de La Salle welcomed Dr. Daniele de Meneghi from the University of Turin (Italy), with the aim of further consolidating the fruitful collaboration between both institutions. This joint work focused on higher education in veterinary public health and the implementation of the One Health approach in undergraduate and graduate programs.
During his visit, Dr. de Meneghi traveled to the Utopía Project in Yopal, where he delivered the lecture “Ecosystem Health to Improve Human and Animal Health.” He also engaged in an academic dialogue with students from the One Health research group of the Veterinary Medicine Program and participated in activities related to the project on capacity-building in gender equity and socio-ecological resilience among rural families in Villa de Leyva in the face of the climate crisis, funded by VRIT and led by Dr. Natalia Cediel.
As part of this agenda, Dr. de Meneghi also met with Br. Alexander Santafé, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Universidad de La Salle, where they explored new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as international accreditation and the training of students in academic internships. Among the achievements highlighted was the experience of María Camila Querubín, a student who carried out an internship at the University of Turin in the field of clinical practice and public health.
This visit reaffirmed Universidad de La Salle’s commitment to academic internationalization and the strengthening of strategic partnerships that promote the development of global competencies, high-impact research, and the training of professionals with an international outlook.
